In celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary, STAND has launched the “The Truth Tour.” For an entire year, our Founder and President Bishop E.W. Jackson will travel the country addressing the half-truths and outright lies taught about American history. Staying True to America’s National Destiny means teaching citizens the truth about our history. While we have our share of sins, we have become the greatest nation in human history because our roots are in faith in Almighty God.
Only America acknowledges God as the grantor of our liberty and fundamental rights. The Declaration of Independence not only established a legal and political justification for separating from Great Britain. It also set forth a spiritual and cultural blueprint for the kind of country we would be. If our rights come from God, then we are all accountable to Him, both our government and individual Americans.
Our country was born into a world of conquest, subjugation, and slavery, but we are the only nation created with a national conscience that would ultimately overcome the most intractable evils of the times.
That is not the story our educational system has told, but someone must. Howard Zinn (A People’s History of the United States), and others, have distorted America’s history and poisoned the minds of our people, causing many Americans, especially young people, to hate their own country. The Truth Tour refutes Zinn and shows why Americans should be grateful for our country, rather than bitter, angry, and resentful.
No country or people possess perfection, but America stands out as the most noble and exceptional nation there has ever been. Only Israel compares because of its divine origins. Those of us who love this country must teach others that America is worth defending and preserving and show them why. That’s what The Truth Tour does.
