76 Days of Prayer for Purpose and Prosperity
Happy 249th Independence Day
Patriot,
Today we celebrate 249 years of American independence. When the Declaration of Independence was officially adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, it marked one of the greatest days in human history.
The Declaration is indisputably one of the most profound expressions of the human aspiration for liberty ever written:
“… all men are created equal,”
“… endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,”
“… among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
“…to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,”
The founding principle that liberty and fundamental rights come from our Creator, not from government, sets America apart as the exceptional nation.
The Founding Fathers were explicit in stating their belief in and reliance upon Almighty God to establish the United States of America as a providential nation, ordained by the Lord for His purposes:
“…appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions,”
“…with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”
One year from now we reach the quarter-millennium mark – 250 years. Many historians believe this is the time when great nations either begin to decline into irrelevance or face a catastrophic setback from which they never recover. The cause can be external but is usually internal decay.
What destiny does God have in mind for America? Will we fulfill it or fail? The answer is found in Psalm 33:12 – “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD…” America must return to God’s righteousness in order to secure a prosperous future. It is STAND’s mission to make sure this happens – that we are “Staying True to America’s National Destiny.”
We believe that any honest student of American history and our place in the world must conclude that we are indeed a providential nation. The evidence is overwhelming. For example, counting from July 4th to September 17th, the date the US Constitution was passed is exactly 76 days. This is not coincidence, luck, or human engineering. This is the hand of God at work.
To celebrate God’s divine intervention in the affairs of our nation, we have created “Project 76.” During the seventy-six days from July 4th to September 17th we will be emphasizing prayer, purpose, and prosperity for America. While we see America-haters burn our Flag, denounce our country, and shout death to America, we will continue to love our country, honor our Flag, and stand up for the land of the free and the home of the brave.
STAND was founded on July 4, 2009. Therefore, today is our 16th anniversary. During the seventy-six days of Project 76 we will also be hosting a STAND-A-THON to ask you to help us fulfill our mission of preserving the great nation God has given us.
Our Founding Fathers pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to create our country. We must do no less to keep it. We look forward to your prayers and support to make Project 76 a spiritual and financial success and we thank you in advance.
