Congratulations to President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the nation of Israel on reaching an historic peace agreement for Gaza. True peace is achieved not only by diplomacy, but by strength. The decimation of Hamas, the destruction of Iran’s nuclear plants, and President Trump’s unwillingness to finance Iran’s terror are essential military actions which have created the possibility of peace. Obama and Biden prolonged hostilities by appeasing Iran and Hamas. Appeasement never works.
Now that Hamas has been brought to the realization that it is peace or annihilation, they have made the rational choice. Israel was always willing. Hamas was not. Now all parties seem willing, and that is a good thing for Israel, the Middle East, and the world.
The forty-eight hostages are due to be released on Monday. Twenty- eight will be bodies, but at least their families will have some measure of closure and the ability to lay their remains to rest. The living hostages will be welcomed home with great acclimation. Two are Americans. They have endured horrific conditions of darkness, starvation, and torture. At last, they will be free from the clutches of such evil.
There is a note of caution. Hamas is evil. Signing a peace agreement does not change that. They must completely embrace peace or be completely destroyed. There is no other way. The door is now open to a future where the people of Israel and Gaza can live in peace, raise their families, educate their children, build businesses and enjoy their lives. If Hamas slams the door on this opportunity, it will be closed forever, and their fate will be sealed. If they sabotage this process, the Palestinian people must do what they should have done long ago – reject Hamas leadership and refuse to follow them into suicide.
President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. No President has done more to bring peace to the Middle East and the world. The Nobel Committee is meeting soon. I trust they will recognize this historic moment and President Trump’s indispensable role as peacemaker.
For all who support Israel, we ask you to pray, give, and go. Pray for Israel, give to organizations which support Israel, and go visit Israel. It is a trip that every Christian should make at least once. It is an unforgettable experience.
For God and Country,
