I’ll probably never believe in God, but I have come to understand that people who do believe in God are not the Evil people the Left has been so determine to wipe out. The impetus for EXODUS NOW, and what has given it credibility in the black community is the Democrat Party’s increasingly secular stand, particularly making “same-sex marriage” an official part of the Party Platform. This came on the heels of a number of other actions which many Christians found objectionable: President Obama’s support for same-sex marriage; regulations ordering Catholic and other Christian institutions providing healthcare to distribute free contraceptives and abortion drugs; Convention speakers support for unrestricted abortion up to the moment before delivery; and taking God out of the party platform and no longer recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Across the country, as black Christians debate the call to EXODUS NOW, Democrats are shaken. They desperately need the votes of black church goers. Democrats are responding by attacking Jackson personally on left wing blogs.

“They can say anything they want about me,” says Jackson, “but I do not intend to leave Christians in bondage to a party that is hostile to everything Christians hold dear. Either we worship and rely on God or we worship and rely on a political party. We are supposed to rely on Almighty God, not the government or any party. When a party disdains God and His word, as the Democrat Party clearly does, it is time to leave that party.”

Says the Bishop, “This movement is not about Party, but principle; not about race, but righteousness. This is not about winning an election, but saving a generation.”

Norfolk, VA. Bishop E.W. Jackson, Chairman of “Ministers Taking a STAND” will host a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington DC at 1:00 PM to call for a mass Exodus of Christians from the Democrat party.

He will be joined by prominent leaders from around the country including from the Virginia area, LT. General William “Jerry” Boykin (Ret.) who will speak in support of this effort. General Boykin has played a role in almost every major American military operation since the 1970s. While rescuing hostages in the 1983 operation in Granada his arm bone was shattered by a .50 caliber machine gun. Later Col. Boykin was Commander of the Delta Force Team that fought the infamous Battle of Mogadishu, and was wounded in a Mortar attack in the aftermath of the battle. He also served as Deputy Director of Special Activities at the Central Intelligence Agency and the Deputy Under-secretary of Defense for Intelligence during the Bush administration.

Also Confirmed to speak is Sonnie Johnson, former President of the Virginia chapter of the Frederick Douglass Foundation. She is also a writer and contributor to BigGovernment.com, founded by the late Andrew Brietbart and hosts her own blog – didshesaythat.com. Ms. Johnson is a clarion voice for patriotism, the Constitution and Judeo-Christian values and is credited with having provided ground breaking leadership in the black community and beyond. She is particularly concerned to speak to black Christians about their relationship to the Democrat Party.

There will be numerous speakers across racial and denominational lines, including Rabbis Nachum Shifren of, Santa Monica, California, and Carlos Parker of Richmond, Virginia, representing the Hispanic and Jewish communities. There will be Catholic and Protestant representatives as well.

Recently the Wisconsin group, Freedom From Religion Foundation, sent a letter to the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors threatening a lawsuit over the practice of allowing prayer before meetings. FFRF has sent similar letters to municipalities all over the country in a effort to scare them into removing prayer, God, the ten commandments and religion in general. Giles County, also in SW Virginia, has been dealing with a FFRF lawsuit over the posting of the ten commandments in their High School.

Today, the Roanoke County Board of Supervisors planned to vote on a new rule designed to please the FFRF and prevent the threat of a lawsuit from becoming a reality. The rule would have prevented ministers delivering the pre-meeting invocation from mentioning the Bible, Jesus or anything else that might be specific to a particular religion.

We at STAND know this  to be a violation of the first amendment and were on hand to speak in opposition to it. I am excited to be able to announce we won the day! After realizing we all knew their proposed rule was a violation of the first amendment, they did not vote to approve it. Here is the statement from Bishop Jackson I delivered on behalf of STAND:

Esteemed Members:

It is a sad fact of modern American culture that our First amendment freedoms are so misunderstood that they are honored more in the breech than in the exercise. Groups such as the Foundation For freedom from Religion, the ACLU and a host of others have made it a cause célèbre to go about the country like politburo officials, seeking to halt any expression of faith, particularly Christian faith which remains predominant in our country. STAND – Staying True to America’s National Destiny – is an organization dedicated to protecting and defending our First Amendment freedom. What our Virginia forefather Thomas Jefferson – clearly the intellectual force behind our First Amendment – had in mind was freedom of religion not freedom from religion.

Asking a Christian minister not to mention the name of Jesus in public prayer because it might offend should be as abhorrent as requiring a Jewish Rabbi person to pray in the name of Jesus because to not do so might offend Christians. For the Board of Supervisors or any other governmental body to allow prayer to open its proceedings is not an endorsement of a particular religion or denomination. More to the point, it is certainly not Congress making a law respecting the establishment of religion, which is all the Constitution prohibits. Congress itself, specifically mentioned in the Constitution, has a Congressional Prayer Caucus. That is clearly not unconstitutional. How can it possibly be a violation for a County Board of Supervisors to allow prayer?

We urge you not allow yourselves and your county to be intimidated by extremist bullies who use the legal system to twist our Constitution and force the transformation of our culture from Judeo-Christian to secular. IT IS TIME TO TAKE STAND.

During the training session, Wiley used this statement by House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, (R-VA) as an example: “I’ve never believed that you go raise taxes on those that are paying in, taking from them, so that you just hand out and give them to someone else.” She called Cantor’s statement “racially coded…right wing rhetoric.”

“In other words,” says the Bishop, “all statements and policies of conservatives are by definition ‘racist.’ So Joe Biden’s statement was not a gaffe, but in furtherance of an explicit racial strategy hatched a long time ago. However, it does demonstrate the low opinion Democrats have of black Americans. They believe we can be manipulated by any racial charge, no matter how outrageous.”

Jackson is alerting black Americans to this “condescending treatment” by liberal elites. “If leftists want to find racism, they can look in the mirror to see the paternalistic face of modern racism in America,” says Bishop Jackson. “Elitist liberals despise black people. Watch how viciously they treat black conservatives. Today’s leftist Democrats are no better than slave masters of 200 years ago who bragged about how good they treated their ‘negroes,’ as long as they stayed in line and had no crazy ideas of freedom. Liberal elitists tolerate black people who ‘stay in their place.’ Step out of line, you will be punished. Justice Clarence Thomas called it ‘a high tech lynching.’”

Bishop Jackson has called on the Democrat Party to renounce their racial strategy and apologize for decades of manipulating the black community with racial hysteria.

The crisis we face grows more critical each day. The economic and fiscal problems were already at cataclysmic proportions. However, we now have a new dimension added to this frightening situation. There is a concerted effort to do away with all symbols of our Judeo-Christian culture, to deny our right of conscience in matters of faith and to attack Christians, Catholic and Protestant, who dare to speak openly of their faith.

The response to Dan Cathy of Chick-Fil-A exposed the left for the hateful people they are. Even sixteen year old Gabrielle (“Gabby”) Douglas, Olympic Gold winning gymnast, was attacked for daring to give glory to God for her win.

Now we have found that in September, the Democrat Party is going to declare same-sex marriage an official plank of the Party Platform. This is nothing short of a Declaration of War against Bible believing Christians, and it will have far reaching implications. That the Democrats would do this, in spite of the fact that voters have overwhelmingly voted for Constitutional Amendments to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman, shows that this party has decided to rebel against the people and against God. Just as with Obamacare, they will shove down our throats what they determine is best, regardless of the Constitution or the will of the people.

However, there is a silver lining in all of this. This may be an opportunity for an historic shift in the cultural and political direction of our country if Christians of all races will unite in rejecting the Godless left agenda of the Democrat Party.

We have less than 90 days and I need to reach every Christian I can, particularly in swing states, starting here in Virginia. I need to advertise on Christian radio stations. I need to organize a major Press Conference after the Democrat Party makes same sex marriage an official part of its platform. And I need to unite ministers of all races (“MINISTERS TAKING A STAND”) in Virginia and the other states that are up for grabs. I need a minimum of $7,000 a month just to have the kind of public relations effort that will make it possible for me to be seen and heard. It is a big task and time is short, but our country’s fate hangs in the balance.
